Who’s up for a WordPress meetup next Thursday…

Who’s up for a WordPress meetup next Thursday, April 7 at 7pm? Matt Wiebe and myself will be at the Yellow Dog Tavern and would love to talk about WordPress with you. If you’ve got a question about WordPress Themes, Plugins, blogging in general β€” anything WordPress-related this is the place to do it. Plus, if you don’t come the combined gravity of our WordPress-nerd knowledge will create a singularity event that could potentially swallow the city whole.

You don’t want that to happen do you? No, you don’t. Come on down, have a drink, learn something about WordPress, and have a good time. I hope to see you there!

Me! Me! I’m up for it! I’ll tell all my friends about it too! But really.

If the meet-up starts @ 7pm when does it end?

        • Ian Stewart 12:36 pm on April 8, 2011 Permalink

It wound up winding up around 9:30 or so last night.

        • Dan Bernardic 1:46 pm on April 8, 2011 Permalink

Yeah, around 9:30 is when Ian and most people left, but I WordPress-partied late into the night.

I will try to restrain my nerdiness for the sake of humanity. I will probably fail.

I would love to make it out, if health allows, so I’m a definite maybe!

I suppose we should come up with a time to meet. 7:00?

    • Matt Wiebe 5:08 pm on March 30, 2011 Permalink | Reply

7pm sounds pretty good. People can then eat before (if you’re an early eater) or at the pub. I recommend the cheese bread!

Will definitely try to come by.

I’m totally in. Wow, I’m not sure if the Yellow Dog will be big enough to contain the size of my list of WordPress questions. Hehe!

      Looking forward to it!

if nothing else, this will provide an interesting view of what a “local wordpress user” looks like in the Winnipeg area. I’ll have to take a gander

Yes, come out and see me build a functional, not-just-a-blog, WordPress-based website (i.e. theme) with custom post types, using a minimal set of theme files.

      Thanks Ian!

For ‘Idea Connecting’ – I’d like to see a Soap Box session where anyone can make a timed, 5 minute presentation about some aspect of WordPress!

      All the best!

January’s WordPress Meetup is coming up the first Friday in January, 7:30–8:30pm. The awesome crew at Digihedron, 704 – 70 Arthur Street, will be hosting us. There’ll be some short presentations, cool WordPress swag, and lots of talk about what you can do with WordPress.

If you sign up for email subscriptions in the sidebar you’ll get a reminder the day of the Meetupβ€”when I post a reminder. πŸ™‚

Looking forward to it! It would be great to get some idea of who is going so that we can arrange to not be lacking in chairs. πŸ™‚

I’ll be there. Just recently started with WP, and honestly I don’t think there’s all that much to discuss. But I’m always up for meeting more programmers. And hanging out with Cat Monnors

Incidentally, as of tomorrow I have six business days to build a custom wordpress theme. I’ve never touched it before today. How fucked am I?

There is not enough information in your post for us to determine how likely is your project to fail.

If you really want help, talk to me about your project tonight πŸ˜‰

Howdy! Winnipeg’s first WordPress meetup was held November 10 at the King’s Head. It was pretty informal and a pretty good time with some good ideas about WordPress sharedβ€”and WordPress swag donated by Automattic!

You want to come to the next one, don’t you? You do? Awesome. πŸ™‚
